Auto-Responder for Your Email Marketing

It took me two years, three months, and nine days to start implementing an auto-responder in my office.

It sounds weird, doesn’t it?

I really wonder why I was procrastinating like hell. Collecting emails is important, but doing something with all those precious emails is far more important. Sitting on thousands of email addresses without doing anything is, to be blunt, stupid. And yet, that’s what I did.

I have used MailChimp for two years, so I know the importance of collecting email addresses, and yet I never really took the next step of getting those email addresses to work for me.

It wasn’t until I started using Noah Kagan’s HTMYFD and then met Bryan Harris that I began to realize that action is far more important than understanding. Knowledge can only bring you so far, and ultimately it is a practice that will take you to the next level.

I knew my email marketing list was important, but for various reasons, I never really got around to using it. And you know what? That held me back, but no more! I have now implemented an auto-responder and other methods to maximize the potential of my email list.

Why Auto-Responder?

We all have to prioritize. After all, there are only so many hours in a day, and so much a team of people can do. Yet having a high-quality list of emails and attracting a nice target group of people to your site can yield excellent results when done correctly.

So what all of this have to do with an explainer video? No worries, it’s all connected.

Many of our leads and clients hesitated to invest and get working on their own explainer video. A video can cost more than a thousand dollars, so it’s quite the investment. And when it comes to investing, you only have so much money, so you really have to prioritize.

Unsurprisingly, potential customers always have a lot of questions and concerns. For example, explainer video really where I can get my best return? Or perhaps I should wait to see if I can invest the money elsewhere?

Anyways, this all goes back to me and the story about why I have a hard time setting my auto-responder. I kept putting it off and putting it off, and the whole time opportunities slipped through my fingers. And that’s why we urge our customers to order an explainer video, and if they want one, it’s better to do so soon rather than later. Don’t let opportunities pass you by. It takes time to develop an explainer video, and if you hesitate (like I did), the ship might set sail without you.

Similarities Between Auto-Responder and Explainer Video

Explainer videos can break down even the most complex ideas and explain your business, product, or service to people quickly. A great video (like the ones we produce) will keep your audience captivated and will generate sales and/or leads.

A lot of clients come in with great ideas and great products. An explainer video can provide that extra bit of momentum to really send your product over the edge. Just last week, we held our monthly meeting at Breadnbeyond, and we got to talking a small number of customers who have gotten in touch with us. Most were offering great products and services, and we offer great products and services. It seemed like a match made in heaven. Everyone was excited.

And then. Nothing.

The trail went cold.

Some of them never took the next step towards actualizing their video.

Even worse yet, some clients have sent us some funds to get started. We’d draw up scripts and mockups, have a chat, do a presentation, and they’d be bouncing off the wall. But every once in a while, there’s that “let me get back to you next week” sort of reply. And then they disappear.

Sure we still hand their money in hand. But believe it or not, we don’t want it. We aren’t just about milking cash, and we’re about making kick-ass explainer videos. We need some funding to do so, sure, but at the end of the day, we’d rather start and finish a product than getting paid for a half-finished video.

The Takeaways

So what’s the whole point of this story? Don’t hesitate, not if an opportunity is sitting in front of you. For me, it was setting up Mailchimp and really using my email list (and doing so worked wonders, I might add). For you, it’s getting an explainer video for your business, service, or product.

So seize the moment, get in touch, and let’s get to work on an explainer video!
