Encircling the Kaaba represents the prospect of oneness and the fact that everything revolves around Allah Almighty. Every time the pilgrim completes the circuit. He elevated his stage, and after completing seven circuits, he moved from Nafs Al-Ammarah to Nafs Al-Mutmainnah, rising from the lowest to the highest step of the soul.
What Is Tawaf and How Do I Do It?
To perform Tawaf, the pilgrim must be in a Wudhu state and free of all pollutants. The right shoulder of male pilgrims should not be covered during Tawaf, and they should embrace Ramal for the first three circles before walking normally for the last four rounds. Ladies are not required to get Ramal and are free to move freely in each of the seven circles. The Kaaba should be to the traveler’s left. Enter Masjid al-haram with your right foot and utter the dua: Bismillahi wasalatu wasalamu ala Rasolillahi with the intention of performing Tawaf.
When you arrived to perform Tawaf, there was no compelling cause to do Tahiyatul-Majid. However, if there is a compulsory Salah, it should be done first. Begin your Tawaf at the Hajra al-Aswad and, if possible, kiss the holy stone without causing a disturbance. If you can’t reach it due to the throng, face the Hajra al-Aswad from the Tawaf line and make a single signal with your right hand. Now recite Bismillahi wallahu Akbar and make your first anti-clockwise circle.
Explorers are free to petition, make duas, and perform zikr as they see ideal. Continue to move. There is no harm in feeling Hungary, parched, or needing to use the restroom. You can now release yourself and continue with your Tawaf. Contact Rukn-al-Yamani or Yamani with your right hand and repeat Bismillahi wallahu Akbar once more. Touching it isn’t necessary. If you can, do so. Nevertheless, if you’re performing on the top level of the mosque or there’s a large audience, you can continue with your Tawaf. Avoid pointing it, kissing your hand, or saying anything.
From Yamani corner to Black Stone, it is Sunnah to recite the following.
Rabana atina fidunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan wa qina athabanar.
When you reach the Black-Stone, you have completed one round. Continue in the same manner to finish each of the seven circuits. Cover your right shoulder when you’ve completed the seven rounds. Pilgrims must next go to the Maqaam-e-Ibraaheem, reciting the appropriate Quranic portion as they do so.
Watakhithu min Maqami Ibrahema musala,
After then, position yourself such that Maqaam-e-Ibraaheem is between you and the Holy Kabah. Offer two rakats Salah, reciting Surat Kafirun following Surat Fatiha in the first rakah and Surat Ikhlas in the second rakah, as directed by the Sunnah. If there isn’t enough room in Maqaam e Ibraaheem to offer two rakats, you can supplicate anywhere in Haram. Your Tawaf is complete once you have offered this prayer.
