How To Roll Your Own Tobacco: 7 Tips

  1. Wash and dry the leaves thoroughly before rolling into the Rolling Paper because it’s important to have clean, compact tobacco that doesn’t fall apart when you roll it out. It should also be dried down well so that air does not blow in between the florons after drying but instead flows around them (the art of pressing). The more nicely wrung and pressed you to roll tobacco leaves, the better.
  2. Cut off only a few sticks at a time and dry them up as quickly as possible so that they do not crumble during pressing (when you apply weight to it). Put your top tinder on top of your florons when rolling into rolls and arrange them evenly in the press segments. You can even spindle or starch-press larger weeds if there are lots of rops left over.
  3. Massage white ash and stump snuff in between the tobacco leaves with your fingers before pressing to get rid of as many bad tastes and suggestions (rotten eggs, feet, beets, etc.)
  4. Heat up a pan with some water or just hot steam (around 98°C-110°C) until it boils. Add room temperature herb only. Place your flakes individually on irons, small towers, and the like in order to make them pliable enough.
  5. Take one floret from the pot and after taking in some moist air, pinch together with your florons with strong fingers.
  6. Roll them up into loose rolls. The weight of your hands should be enough to press out as much unwinding strength etc., as possible. If you have done a good job already, the tobacco leaves won’t crumble by themselves when you then section off pointed flakes for rolling later.  Once the rolling is done, it’s best to cure at least a day before they can be pulled apart and smoked.
  7. Place your rolls in buttered paper or fluted aluminum foil so that air won’t get into the space between them during curing.

Why Rolling Papers Are Necessary?

It can’t be stressed enough how important it is to have good paper rolling (paper-rolling) implemented in order to get decent smoking results.  As long as you use old, worn-out rolled cigarette papers or flimsy nylon rolling papers that are too FAT, they are prone to cracking open at the point where your weak hand touches them while rolling.

So, What Should I Actually Buy?

If you do will also consider buying a personal roller, this will allow you to roll your own cigarettes at any time whenever you need or want it. For starters, one of the best rolling papers is usually called “roil” (rolled up and light stuff) in German. They resemble a large wooden cylinder with rounded walls that can be rolled into an even diameter very easily after moistening them thoroughly using hot tap water (between 90-110 degrees). You roll out these types of rolling papers more easily and finally, you can tolerate them as a very good substitute for the gummy cigarettes that most American teenagers have grown accustomed to. German roils rolling papers also work well with other tobaccos than just Virginia tobacco leaves; so: pre-rolling your florons prior to placing them in the buttered popcorn paper or aluminum foil is advisable anyway since it speeds up drying time significantly.
